Description:
(DENVER) March 2, 2011 - For the 14th year Fad Irish Pub and Restaurant, located downtown at 1735 19th St., is hosting the largest outdoor St. Patrick's Day festival in Denver with celebratory events Thursday, March 10 through Thursday, March 17 for a Week of Savage Craic including an annual charity event on Friday, March 11.
Craic (pronounced crack) is a common term used in Ireland to describe fun, entertainment and enjoyable conversation with good friends. Savage craic means an epic party and is the theme of this years celebration. The Week of Savage Craic includes Denvers largest celebration in an outdoor Irish Village with inflatable pubs on March 12, the day of the Denver St. Patricks Day Parade, and a huge outdoor festival on St. Patricks Day featuring the best mix of Irish music, food and entertainment in the city.
Friday, March 11 Charity Event, Alice 105.9 live feed, The Worthingtons
Doors are open at 11 a.m. to all ages with a limited menu. After 4 p.m. the party is exclusively for those 21 years old and up.
St. Baldricks Charity Event: 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Be a hero for kids with cancer. St. Baldrick's Foundation is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer while requesting donations of support from friends and family. The goal this year is $200,000 and Fad Irish Pub will donate 20 percent of all food sales during the event.
Over 250 people will shave their heads at the event at Fad this year. Those shaving their heads will be enthusiastically cheered on by crowds of friends, family, doctors, nurses, children and others who have been touched by cancer in hopes to further awareness that pediatric cancer, the number one disease killer of children, is terribly under-funded.
Get involved and either shave your head, volunteer, eat or donate, but give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Visit http://www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/eventid/132/eventyear/2011 to learn how to be a shavee, support a team or donate in general.
Slacker and Steve/Alice 105.9 live feed: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Worthingtons: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Celebrate your good deeds for the day with an evening of great live music.
